Lady Aurora showed up right after a camera club meeting, up here in Chisago County, on September 17th. A few of us went to Wild River State Park. My hubby is a stickler for rules, so although we got some decent shots, the park “closes” at 10. At 10:15 I started putting away my gear….. and we all know what happened about 10:20, the sky exploded!!
SOOO not fair!!

My spot on the boat dock was gone so I grabbed my stuff and ran down a trail to find another location where I could see north (ish) Finally got to a spot that was decent and my camera wouldn’t connect to my phone. ARGGGGHHHHH I did the best I could, still using the same settings from before and used my intervalometer to snap a few.. then it was gone again. ARGGHHHHH..
The people on the boat dock had relocated by the time I got back so I snapped one last pic (still unable to connect to my phone) and packed up and went home.

Got home and the first half of all my pics were GONE!! (Deleted? Reformatted?? I dunno, but jeepers!!)
I started working on the images I did have, which you can see here. Later, a friend from camera club recommended this software to “undelete” my images so I was able to get them back. Naturally since I missed the main show, they weren’t all that, but I always hope for a shooting star or something..
Anyway, that was my Monday night adventure (oh and on the way home stopped by a north facing pond that has swans sometimes.. and a cop came to visit. LOL Bright light hell!! OMG!!! He apologized but still, I was blind for 15 minutes!!)
My wonderful hubby did find a software that was able to recover my images. Thank goodness!!
As an added bonus, while waiting for Lady Aurora before I gave up, I turner my tripod around and tried playing with the moon. I do not have the right camera for moon photography, that is a future (very) expensive purchase, but since I am learning photoshop, I thought I might make an attempt to make a composit.
Honestly, it came out kinda cool for a first attempt (this was one of the sets of “deleted” images).
