Nothing is worse than a forecast for a weekend that doesn’t come true, until Sunday night. T’was a beautiful autumn weekend but I heard there were crowds and crowds of people heading north. I had wanted to go to the north shore but I didn’t want to drive in traffic, plus there was the hopes of aurora.
Naturally, deciding to stay home and hope for the aurora resulted in it not happening: until it did.

Watching the numbers, I decided to set up my camera about 8:30pm, right here at home. FaeHaven does give decent views in a northerly direction. (I was bummed at first that I couldn’t see west, for sunsets, storms, etc. but seeing lady aurora in my own back yard is better than sunset and storms)
Nothing much happened for a while but about 9:30pm she really started dancing. In fact, using my intervalometer allowed me to take photos approximately every 20-30 seconds. (Honestly not sure how I ever survived without my intervalometer. It is an amazing inexpensive tool).
