As I am learning more and more about astrophotography and joining more groups online, I made a new friend. She’s learning too. She asked me to make a quick video about how I used Lightroom and she said it was helpful so I figured if it helped her, maybe it will help other people.
The key point, I think, to using Lightroom, is to break it into small pieces. Don’t do overall changse or just sky and ground or anything as “simple” as that. For truly magical pieces of photographic art, tweak parts and make it look ways that make you happy. With Lightroom, you don’t have to do it just once. You can save versions and go back and make changes, you can start completely over and then, naturally, you can compare them.
Every little bit that you do is a learning experience and it all adds up to eventually looking exactly how you want it to look.
The most important thing to start off with is to have a good photo. For astrophotography of stars, higher ISO is best. Stacking is always an option but single shots are great too, with high ISO’s.
